It has developed a unique mobile payment system that allows consumers to link their Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) or credit card accounts to their mobile phone via a 6-digit security pin created by consumers when they register with Mobile Money. This system has been developed over the past 2 years, and has been used internally in one of our business units, and has been proven to be highly successful.

The system is designed such that it is very convenient to consumers whereby they can now pay from where they are. Mobile Money is very user friendly, extremely secure, and consumers are rewarded with instant cash rebates and bonus points.

It is also designed with the merchants' benefits in mind. It costs nothing to set up. The transaction cost is 30 to 50% lower than the normal credit card charges. Mobile Money also provides instant visibility of transactions on its website, and daily sales and reconciliation reports to the merchants. The merchants will also get their money from our bank partners in 2 days automatically.

We are working with a few banks to launch this service. With this new payment system, internet transactions can be done easily without fraud. It will also facilitate remote buying. Regular bill collections as well as top-ups such as Touch N Go can be done easily. Payment at the point of sales is made a lot simpler, easier, and faster too. Consumers no longer need to run around making bill payments, whether it is insurance premiums or college tuition fees, and authorised distributors can even make collections through mobile money.
