What are the processes in migrating web hosting provider

Hi guys, I was wondering what are the processes in migrating from one web hosting provider to another? do we have to manually move the files ourselves or something? thanks in advance

Hi, it is depending on the control panel. If you are going to migrate to the same control panel such as cPanel->cPanel, then you can run a full backup files from your current cpanel then upload to the new cpanel's ftp. Then you can ask the server admin to restore the files from you.

If you are going to migrate to different control panel, then you have to restore the files manually.

Hello,

The best is to let your hosting provider do the migrate

Thank you,

If your webpages contents any customer services which nid to make it private, I suggest u to do it manually by urself.

If it's just a normal explaination page. You can ask for help from your new service provider if they help u to transfer.

yes its possible provided its basic website (using normal html, css or javascripts)
if the current site used any microsoft server components then you need to do some coding change....

anyhow i suggest you recheck the all the link again coz in linux, the filename is case sensitive...

you may made a testing your self, install either a CMS system in a free hosting, then post some data there, and manually migrate it to your new host.

Once every thing success, you may done it life your self... Just try and error with the free hosting...

yes, but perhaps with minor discrepancies. always keep a backup prior to destruction of old structure from the original host.

if you're not using host-specific control panel, should be much easier between similar CP, eg. Plesk->Plesk, or Cpanel->Cpanel. otherwise, just migrate one-by-one, files, databases, ftp settings, mail settings etc.
