Help, my website overlimit CPU/RAM usage!

I just run new website wayangtopia.com for around 6 month. Last month my website traffic boost by keyword "cloverfield" from google image. So I've moving my hosting from sempoihosting to mesrahosting to get batter bandwidth and disc space. But yesterday new problem coming. My website again cannot be access and mesrahosting send me this "akaun anda telah pun melebihi limit CPU/RAM usage kami yang hanya membenarkan 3.30%, akaun anda sekarang telah mencapai 4.xx% CPU dan 41.73% RAM ". I contacted their support team and they recommended me to move to dedicated server and i don't have enough money to spend 350 bucks for each month. Anybody plz give any idea and suggestion

Maybe someone can suggest something if you give more details. How much disk space are ou using? How much data transfer per month? How many visitors or hits or page views etc. How much you guess all this will increase in the next few months? What sort of website? Static or dynamic? Using databases? What is your budget? Are you looking for local hosting only?

Disc space: 55mb so far
Data Transfer: 1.5Gb-2Gb daily and will incresing until end of January
*I cannot remember visitor/hits/page view statictic from awstat because i cannot access cpanel
Page impression: +-3000 (google adsense)
Prediction: This trend only for 2 month because i'm running wbsite about upcoming movie. The word "cloverfield" is a movie that will show on 18 Jan 08. So my website trafffic will increase until "cloverfield" movie launch. My website also discussed at digg.com and imdb.com forum based from google image.
My budget: only for standard web hosting, preferred cpanel and SQL, budget around RM200
I preferred local company for easy bank in money

- what is your theme
- normal bandwith before
- visitor daily?

* Wordpress CAN caused all of this trouble if you didn't upgrade your to the latest version.
*Some of wordpress plugin can make thing like this too..
* Thousands Evil yahoo bot crawling every hour can caused this too.

I m using latest wordpress 2.3.1
Theme: mezzo -with edited css
Plugin: adman, popular post, mighty adsense, share this, google adsense widget, popularity plugin, askimet.
Ads: google adsense, kontera, nuffnang, advetlet

This is the problem when getting hosting which offer large space or data transfer, but even though your usage is within the allowed resources, there are other factors which will prevent you from using your hosting account, as you have experienced.

Your budget of RM200 is for a year, right? Not sure if you will be able to find something suitable especially if you are using a lot of processor power and memory. You should find out what the specs of the server you are currently hosted on are, then you can see how much resources you are using based on the percentages figures your host has provided.

The cost of dedicated server you mentioned of RM350 is per month price. Check with your host, I think you will need to pay extra for cPanel license.

Another option may be to get a VPS. That has a lower monthly cost, maybe RM150-250 per month. But you must check the specs to see if it suits your usage.

If your visitors are not all local, then consider an overseas host as well. Those normally have higher specs servers, so maybe your usage will not be a problem.

if you are worried about fee of dedicated server, u may prefer to cluster server. it is cheaper a lot.

2GB transfer per day is a lot! You let ppl download video clips?

But 3000 page impressions a day is not really that high.

Still can't understand whats the real cause? Anyone? Is it the "Share-This" plugin??

Considering your webspace and bandwidth usages, I will suggest you to stick to a hosting provider who can provide good amount of space and bandwidth. I think good shared hosting package will be sufficient for you now instead of VPS/Dedicated
