US hosting or Malaysia Hosting??? pls suggest...!!

hi,

i would like to buy a hosting package but i dunno which company to choice especially dunno which country's host company to choice.

estimate usage:

-hosting a forum
-estimate to have 500-1000 member (max)
-200-500 hits per day
-estimated to have around 50 member online at the same time
-target viewers are from Asia (Malaysia and singapore)

hope those who expert can give some sugguestion.

My suggestion:

Go for local host since your targeted visitors mainly locals. It will make your forum loads faster. Avoid overselling host whaever possible.

Choose more on reliability rather than absurd offer on data space & bandwidth.

Hi,

I would advice you to purchase hosting from a company that has servers in either Singapore or Malaysia though it might be more expensive compared to a US webhost in terms of space and bandwidth. But the page loading will be much faster.

May i just ask, how much space and bandwidth do you expect you will be using?

Hmm... I would say it depends on your budget, as the page load won't be big difference for US or Malaysia if your forum size is not that big.

May I know your budget, as well as your space, bandwidth, etc?

i dunno how much i the space i need actually.. becoz i am newbie in web hosting.. but i think 10-20 gb space is sufficient and bandwith around 50-100gb bandwidth.

Pls suggest some hosting company which is reliable and good uptime.

Hmm... What about your budget? Can you pay yearly or only monthly?

Oh my...try to load his forum during peak hours. It's not a matter of size, but connection speed.

It really depends on the location of your datacenter..
If it's at around CA area, it will load faster than lets say NY.

BTW, peak hours of US and Malaysian sites are different, as the time zone is different.

if my budget is around rm100 to rm200 /yr... and wanted to host 3-5 domain. can any 1 suggest what company can choose ...?
