Dedicated Webserver?

Hi,

I have few questions about dedicated webserver:

- what is the price range(RM) for a dedicated webserver(with/without webhosting control panel)?
- which companies provide the service and accept payment from local bank(Maybank2u, ATM...)
- I saw somewhere that dedicated webserver with Unmetered bandwitdh. Is it truth/possible to have something like? The price vary alot?
- What should we consider when getting a dedicated webserver?

btw, what is 1U rack? Is is the space to put our own server? We need to buy a server then?

Around RM500 if you get it in Singapore. The cheapest you can get in Malaysia is from PCOnline, which is charging RM899/unit, if I have not mistaken. That is for P4 processor. Different processor needs different chassis.

Dear lcf,
I believe it is a plain server. You will buy the server from MercuMaya and install RedHat Linux or Windows Server by yourself. I'm not sure if they charge for installing RHL for you.

Definitely, it does not come with cPanel/WHM. Don't forget you have to pay US$55/month for an external license.

Yes, the cheapest is RM600/month since cPanel itself is approximately RM209/month.

I use dedicated server from http://www.rackforce.com/, it used to be USD99 per month 1.7ghz, 512MB, 60GBHDD.... they accept local bank wire transfer, CPAN need another USD50. No complain about their service

Except for US Based server... Intel 2GHz with 512MB RAM aprox. RM250 with WHM/cPanel
