Again, you get what you paid for. Having reliable servers in good IDC will have high expenses. Thus, some companies have to charge higher to maintain the expenses.

Another thing is, most cheap hosts are newly established. They might not have stable income as they are selling their services cheap to attract clients, which in another way round they gain less profit.

Hello,
Again, this is a commonly asked question. The reason why many foreign providers are selling their services cheaper than local is because they are overselling. I believe you can search for "web host oversell" in Google if you are not sure what is overselling.

Anyways, regarding to whether Malaysia host is better or foreign hosts, that is more to personal opinion. First, not all local hosts have their servers in Malaysia. To be more specific, you should have asked for the location of the server.

To me, many people tend to prefer US servers because they said they target international audience. One thing they have to make sure is that, nowadays people connect to the internet using broadband (especially US surfers) and the speed for a site to load on local server is not significant enough for them to notice that.

However, it is the user himself who should choose the most convenient solution. Having account on US server will reduce email checking speed & web content uploading speed. This isn't a big hassle if the user checks his email a few times per day, but for email critical users like me, who check email every 2 minutes, checking email from a US server will make a big difference.

As for cPanel 9.2 Stable, just a tip for you. cPanel does not charge for upgrading its software version. Therefore, any hosts that is alert will upgrade its control panel frequently, as soon as there is a stable release. We at KKHost.Net is one of them

hm, plesek ke Plesk ? I've only tried Plesk 6 , limited features and all, I've tried Plesk 7 demo, alot of difference compared to Plesk 6.

about the cheaper hosting price overseas is because bandwidth there is cheaper compared to here. US has alot more DC than in Malaysia ? alot of factors really, it depends on location

some of the cheaper hosting price are dealed by teenagers ?

My server was Plesk before but I had to answers lots of emails how to set up simple things especially new customers.

I switched to CPanel then.. the icons explains and people usually self-understood what is it for. Setting Emai/FTP accounts was easier ever!

Cpanel still rocks! School kids would know how to use it.

1. Bagi aku lebih bagus dan senang CPanel. Plesk agak serabut dan tak teratur serta tak user friendly langsung.
Walaupun mungkin ada beranggapan Cpanel sesuai utk newbie.. aku rasa tidak. ia sesuai untuk semua dan mudah difahami.
Aku try pakai plesk terkial-kial jadinya.
Jadi aku pilih Cpanel.. Mudah senang dan sedap dilihat. :P

2. Antara mahal dan murah di malaysia.

Yang murah lazimnya baru, dan juga bergantung pada apa yang dia ada. Mungkin juga pakej promosi dan sebagainya.

Yang mahal - sudah established. Terkenal dan ada keyakinan atas kemampuan dan kestabilan baik dari segi server mahupun pengurusan. Kalau korang buat web untuk golongan pro, ambil yang mahal dan pastikan mahal itu adalah kerana kestabilan dan support yang dia ada. Bukan mahal tanpa alasan. Ada sebab jadi mahal kerana mereka sebenarnya reseller... so tak bleh nak buat murah sebab takut tak untung. Jadi.. siasat betul2 tentang sesuatu kompeni.

Yang mehal juga ada kelebihan lazimnya dari sudut KESELAMATAN / security granted.. Contohnya.. Mengapa yahoo hosting mahal? Sebab dia lebih diyakini selamatnya berbanding yang biasa. sebab? Dia lama dan orang yang menguruskannya dah tentu bukan calang2 orang bukan?

-- Diantara yang mahal dan establish, serta murah tetapi mempunyai komitmen.. aku akan pilih yang murah tu. Komitmen disini adalah seperti = seseorang yang berusaha mencuba buat sendiri sepenuh masa... dia jaga bisness dia sendiri.. dan dalam ertikata lain, walaupun murah. dia sudah punyai ramai client = mean stabil lah juga.

Beberapa aspek penting yang perlu diperhatikan sebelum ambil sesuatu hosting :
- Support (nih paling penting.. kalau ada masalah pada server sampai korang kene tunggu lebih dari 24 jam.. tuh bukan support yang baik.. ) Macam masalah databse error etc lah
- Client Friendly.. menganggap kita sebagai kawan.. bukannya customer yang diabaikan.
- Jaminan harga beku (Freeze Price).. Takut2 mula2 tuh harga rendah.. but for the next year dia naikkan sesuka hati.

Banyak lagi aspek sebenarnya. Kaji puas2 dulu. kemudian tepuk dada tanya selera.

I like Direct Admin too. It's clean & self understood like Cpanel and good for entry level. But once your customer got fancy with their host, they'll ask for more.. Cpanel with Fantastico

mysticmind is right. Established company do understand their customers. Factor of cost and to be financially sounded hosting company also keep them staying. So if you want Cpanel, pull your pocket for more coins. Cpanel license aren't cheap for us.

Hive is getting Windows2000 server with HostingController and Unmetered bandwidth server with DirectAdmin soon. Choices huh?

Cpanel or Plesk? -- ask your customer.
