PENTING NI nak tya

ada tak server2 hosting yg pakai miroring system

ada tak hosting yg korang jumpa atau langan pakai system ni..

macam mana dgn harga hosting tu?

setakat ni aku jumpa ..bajet nak langan dah..

cth server biasa ada 1xcpu 2 hardisk
(lg satu hardisk buat automatik backup)

MIRORING SYSTEM
2xcpu 4hardisk maksud nyer
setiap cpu ada 2 hardisk..(Cpu tu server)
so 2cpu hidup..kalo satu cpu down..atau 1 server down
satu lagi still hidup..
kesimpulan server tu tak down kecuali
2server sekali gus tu down..
so 99.9 uptime

ni bukan backup hardisk to hardisk yg biasa TAPI
backup server to server..

oii ada tak company hosting ofer mcm tu..
setakat ni aku jumpa je..hehhee

Best thing to do is get a server with RAID Level 1, 3 or 5.

Another option is to run "RSYNC" on two (*nix) servers (but if you need efficient, real-time mirroring, stick to RAID).

It sounds more like a VLAN to me. Perhaps he just needs load balancing solution?

Anyways, regarding to your concept, it isn't true. Running 2 servers does minimize the downtime but not no downtime at all. You can avoid server hardware failure but not network outage.

Not too sure about that. He hasn't provide us with more information. But from what I can figure out, looks like he wants to run both services on the servers. Therefore, he does not need server clustering, anyways.

Server clustering will cost higher on the operational side. Especially for passive-active mode. For those with critical data and need to be online all the time, they wouldn't mind to pay for this kind of service.
