Hi neutro,
This should be the link: http://www.zone-h.org/en/defacements...etwork.com.my/

Anyways, I have to admit that even our server was defaced before. That was years back when we first started our server with The Planet (not Servermatrix) that comes with their Managed Service.

I shall not blame The Planet because at that time we relied too much on them. You know, we were still fresh in this field at that time. However, a good thing about The Planet is, they are very efficient. Everything was back to normal in around 30 minutes, if my memory recalls properly.

Learning from mistakes is the best way to improve one's service. Although we are now no longer with The Planet, but after that incident, we now have our own admins to manage our servers although our server comes with managed service that is provided by our provider.

By the way, thanks for the link, misha_kuls

Thanks Michealfoo/KKhost.net,

More info
http://www.zone-h.org/en/defacements...2.157.186.194/

Is the list of sites (incl tracenetwork customers who got defaced)
Once your ip is listed there you are always get hack attempts from intruders. Install an IDS to avoid this. Or you'll get defaced quite frequent. (based on the log misha_kulz - you got defaced twice by Ir4dex and 7crews

But we admit that we did mistake in the pass. We offered very nice looking webmail (without double login - cpanel servers operator - u know how annoying the double login is ) and sacrificed some security - php_openbasedir. (guys locked it down!)

I believe the intention of Misha_Kulz is to smear other host name. That is not very professional and very bad way of competing with others. If we keep of smearing each other, we would loose our own market share and people would go to USA host provider (that sucks). I would not mind if my co losing customers to other local providers if their service level is better. We all will get the share of the dough (2 million Malaysian is already online and the number is growing- and want to have some sort of online presence) If we keep doing this with each other.. they would think we suck bad time and rather dealing with foreign hosts. Think about it. Before they start losing faith with local providers we better stop and give encouragement to each other.

Server administration and security is an ongoing process. We need to keep up with the bad guys or else....

Yes, I found out my IP there belonged to my previous server at The Planet

lol, I thought he was the first one to ask us not to condemn other hosts in the previous thread (although I didn't, as I was just voicing my feedback on my past provider) I didn't know he has the time to find out which provider has been defaced but at the same time didn't notice his was in the list, perhaps a longer list yet with redefacements.

Anyways Misha_Kulz, I didn't mean to start it although you did not offended me, but I feel your action against EasyNet is unfair.

Thanks.

lowyat99,
SSL requres static ip (yes you have to pay extra - wink wink) You can purchase SSL cert on the net - We can guide and help to help installing it for you.

If you want to save - We can install self issued Cpanel cert,

ie.

https://www.pelayar.net - Self issued - need own ip - got pop up and nice url

https://www.easynet-interactive.com/testSSL/ - need ip and no pop up and need to purchase SSL - nice url

https://host.pelayar.net/~kengchew/ -shared ssl and no need ip and OpenSSL cert (free) - ugly url

The post above has been corrected

I assume it should be Shared SSL instead of Self issued?

Thanks.

if you have your ip you can generate your own ssl. yeah it can be shared though.. maybe the example is not correct it should be https://www.pelayar.net

If you share it - It would be called shared if you generate for you own like www.yoursite.com it would be called self issued and not sharing it

Yes ssl can be shared with main host. But the url is rather ugly
https://host.yourhost.com/~outsource...lder/index.htm

see the long url.

Paid or unshared SSL can be called from https://outsource.net.my/index.htm

notice the difference?
