For the security end, its good to hire someone who really into this type of job. Its just around RM500 per audit.

I see. We don't pay for security auditing as we ask our admin to handle all the things. His salary isn't really attractive but at least we are happy with his ability of maintaining more than 6 months of uptime without any downtime It's worth it although expensive.

Anyways, I think it is also a good idea to have an offsite support site so that this forum will not turn out to be customer support forum in future, in case anything happens.

To all affected clients, I've found who did the dirty work after my personal audits

I need hints from server-runners around. I found out who has defaced the server from my detailed investigation - it's my own user account (from Malaysia) and I need to know what's the best action plan? I have suspended the account to prevent modification.

Get them to jail. Let him/her learn the hard way. Log an report to your local police station and MyCert

that's pretty rough. i don't know much about the cyber laws in mycert but if there are no allocation/sections/parts of such thing (server defacing) in the law act to be called as a 'crime', i don't think it's possible to put them behind the bars. but losses and bad publicity are greater causes. all i have is a log with a nickname and something that might proove he owns the nickname.

put him into jail is judge desicions, make sure he pay for the price for the cybercrime he done.

Me also didnt pay for security audit all has been done by our sys admin, it is just a suggestion to providers who doesnt have enough expertise in this security field.

Legal action are supposed to be taken for this kinda crime.

they just Level 1 support, dont know much of technical, just answer call and log report. Same as email
