Cron Task not working, weird~~

Hi. I having problem with the cpanel>cron task.

Recently I already purchase 2 script that is Link exchange script(need wget or curl) and mailing

list script(generate cron code from admin area and then copy paste to create a new cron). This 2

script need cron task to work. But I found that the cron task is not working. I'm not sure

whether this is a right place to post my topic here. However, I will post all my reply with the

script owner and hoster to here for you to have better understanding of what am i trying to talk,

and hopefully can get some solution from u.


"If you cannot receive any automatic report at all then it would seem that the cron task is not

set up correctly. It may be set, and it may appear correct, but there could be a further problem,

such as with the "/usr/bin/wget" program used in the task. This program must be available and

accessible by your cron task "user" for it to work.

I recommend that you talk to your host about verifying the task and availability of the program

"wget" used by it."

My host reply me with this "everything is alright with w get

So the wget should not be a problem.

password is match in both place in script admin and this cron code.
Don't know what happened.


Normally, the permissions include "read" access such as:

-rwxr-xr-x

But, "executable" access should be enough, as your host believes and has set up.

I have no explanation for why this still isn't working.





This is the email I send to host:

"Finally I know the problem is totally from this hosting. When I receive your reply inform that

apache with curl has just reinstalled, I go and try out the wget and curl. I found that wget is

still not working, however curl is working well. I set the cron to send dailymail every minute,

and I really receive dailymail every minute. Very Happy. I then delete the cron, and then go and

prepare the final message in mailing list and prepare to have real start. Then I came back to

cpanel>cron task and key in the same curl coding that I key in recently. And having the final

test, but this time, the curl is not working anymore. I didn;t receive dailymail anymore. So I
can confirm now it's a problem from hosting, but not the script itself.

I buy this powerful mailing list because it can help me to do all the task automatically. But it

seems that cron task having so many problem. How can the task be run automatically. Listmail

become useless if cron task always having this type of problem.

And also, I have another link exchange script already installed. This script need to use cron

task to perform dailycheck on whether the link partner is still linking back and perform

professional task... So this script also need to use cron task as well. But I haven't set the

cron task for this script yet, since cron task in this host having so many problem already.

I don't know what to do now. Help me, my host."

they also go to the technical support page at listmail to see and setup using the step, but still

not working .....
They say afraid can't help Crying or Very sad



This is second part, the above is first part that I try to setup mailing list, but the cron not

working. The second part is i generate the cron code from link exchange script admin area and

copy paste to the cron. And wait for the report. But also no email...

It's seems not the problem with the script. 2 professional script stated very clearly on how to

setup cron. But the host say wget, curl, cron task work well, no problem at all.

What can i do?

It's weird. I have been busy with this for near to 1 week, still haven't get this problem solved.
