Need hosting suggestiong

I am currently hosting my website at a Local hosting company. It is very unstable and uptime is bad. I plan to move the hosting to hive.com.my (as I have actually 2 other domain that is hosted elsewhere). It will be cost effective as hive provides hosting with add-on domain. I do not need a lot of bandwidth and space as only Syiok.Com domain will require more in the future.

I will need to move from Direct Admin to Cpanel, and this will be my first problem [I don't know how]?

How is hive.com.my hosting speed and uptime (I know Filuren is a member) but maybe someone can PM me or tell me the service?



: there is some suggestiong for VPS because I am using a lot of resources? [How do I know if I need more resources] VPS is too expensive and I do not earn anything out of this...just doing this for my interest and believe that Internet will help Make Malaysia Society more effective and better. hehe...

Are you looking for local webhosting or overseas?

For local hosting I'd read a few good review about http://www.easynet-interactive.com and I kkhost.net uptime is good too. You can have more review and ask for suggestion at http://www.webhostingtalk.com.my

it is pretty expensive and I could host 3 domain under one package which is a very very cheap way of hosting...other than Syiok.com, both domain doesn't use up much bandwidth.

If your site is important to you, don't just look at the price... I'm on easynet hosting and so far I think they are ok... support and uptime also good. Besides, easynet allows lots of addon domains....

Bear in mind that easynet has hostings both in Malaysia and US...

Hi ad1,
If your sites are resource intensive, you should get an email from your current hoster (if they do monitor the server load & memory usage) as there is no way you can find it out by yourself.

But since you said it does not require much bandwidth, I would assume the hits generated by your sites are low? If that is the case, your sites shouldn't be resource intensive unless you're running background processes, cronjob for example.

Therefore, you do not need to consider VPS at this moment, considering a VPS can be unaffordable.

but what about moving scripts and Database from Direct Admin to CPanel? How should it be done?

Hi ad1,
1. For the scripts, download everything using FTP and upload again with FTP
2. For the database, export and import again using phpMyAdmin (I hope the current DirectAdmin server has it)

But will it work fine when I just download and upload ....because I am afraid that the two platform will not function the same way. And I had to pay for hosting 1 year.....and I will be stuck.

backup the mysql to your pc and dump it back to ur new server,

it wont give you a problem.. I think... from my experience
