But from what'd read from a few forum, the top 3 VPS provider is PowerVPS, Servint, and Liquidweb

I'm happy with their service so far, although last month the site down few times due to insufficient memory. But after I'd upgrade the memory to 512Mb now, its working great. I'm on select 200 package with memory upgrade to 512Mb, and the others remain the same. Cost me about RM220.00 a month.

My site is a download site with forum, gallery that use lots of resources.

dedicated server - the whole server for you only
VPS - like shared hosting, but you get fair amount of resources like guaranteed 300Mhz speed, 10Gb hard disk, 256Mb RAM and lots of bandwidth.

Hi,

They gave me faster CPU, 2x larger HDD and 1 addittional dedicated IP. I negotiate with the livesupport to get a cheaper price (USD 4 discount) and a additional IP. I'm so surprised he can give me the deal . Then I register with him directly from the secure chatting window. (maybe I was talking to the correct person, i think he is the GM of the company because I see his name at the 'Data Center Tour' page)

The first time they gave me the server was not installed properly. Some programs were not working properly (the directadmin control panel). Then I tell them about the problem and they reinstalled the server for me. Until now, there is no other major problem.

Anyway it is a self-managed dedicated server but they do provide basic support too:

but your dedicated server is Celeron 2.0 only that will cause any problem?

like speed slow slow....or wht else ..........ect...?

if your site not using lots of resources, you can use celeron, but if you have an active forum or site with high traffic, stay away from celeron or AMD semphron. Get at least P4 or AMD Barton
