Hello Hexagon,

Yes, that is possible. But perhaps there are still some other limitations, such as the maximum Mbps you can burst up to.

Some ISP / data center providers do offer unmetered, shared bandwidth.

I don't really understand Mbps...is Mbps the speed?

Shared bandwidth? What if another site they host uses a lot of bandwidth, will it affect me?

Mbps = Megabit per second

Some of the provider is using shared connection and some are dedicated link

Ooh, thanks for your reply, Sampride. Then, as I asked if another site used a lot of bandwidth, will it affect me?

For shared bandwidth, there is a policy on the usage, they only allow u to burst to the max (like 10mbps or 100mbps) for only certain hours(so no abuse on the bw), and there is also a minimum guaranteed speed on your server like 1mbps...., so most probably your server will not be affected.

Put it like this, if you need unmetered bandwidth, you will be thrown off any unmetered bandwidth host.

Such hosts stay afloat by removing customers who use large amounts of bandwidths (they say it is not 'fair use').

The only way to get large amounts of bandwidth is to pay for it.

I'd suggest getting a cheap dedicated server for about $US50 which will have 700+ Gb bundled bandwidth and good connectivity. You won't go past 700 Gb. And if you do, just remember that there is NO WAY you would be even going past 70 Gb on an 'unmetered' host!

if you couldn't afford the dedicated server, there are always VPS as an option. I use to host my site on VPS at spry.com and they offer unmetered bandwidth.
