Some thoughts on Exabytes' hosting

Here are my thoughts on Exabytes, and being hosted there for 4 years, I think it would be worth a sen or two.

Here's why I am getting sick of Exabytes's poor reliability...

had a few bad experience with exabytes lately due to downtime and of late escalated support tickets response is slow.

however i had hosted with them happily for the past 2 years now , it seems of late the support might be going downhill ..

These are just marketing gimmicks, and most hosting does that. I find there's equally amount of quality host and lousy host, whether they are international or local.

Exabytes and Shinjiru are probably among the top tiers in Malaysia. As for international, I'll suggest you go for Site5, Slicehost, A Small Orange, Dreamhost, Media Temple.

Well, I wouldn't recommend massive oversellers.
Always remember that you'll get what you paid for.

hmm .. 400 accounts on a single server .. wonder if that is overselling huh? average response from their helpdesk is like 6 ~ 7 hours !!

nevertheless personally i would look for new hosting provider after this experience with exabytes.

Haha. I use local hosting. Recently after more than 20++ hours + ONLY after I posted thread in this forum, the solution solved.. Now I got new prob, the domain I bought from last month hasn't propagate yet!??? I'm still waiting for them to reply my ticket.

Anyway, my first hosting was Exabytes, unluckily the cost is consider high..If not, I would be their loyal customer :P

Then I jumped in and out few hostings company...and my latest hosting is killing my site and my clients site...Always down...Now planning to try another local hosting before deciding on using 'Uncle Sam' based company

My trick

1. Try the cheapest plan THEN you know
2. Buy 1 year plan - why? you could move to other host any time -
3. Find any host with price freeze. why? you dont have to wait [gooday] or on 080808
4. Find any host with less promo. why? They have a lots of new sign-ups
5. Do not go to the cheapest or biggest ! Why - Mayb your site around 5-10 MB storage and bandwidth less then 1 MB = x popular.
