Hi all, email spamming seems to be an serious issues nowadays that you'll recieve spam emails everyday in your inbox that annoys you so i just want to do a survey to understand how you guys/web hosting companys guard your mailboxes against SPAM.

Is there any particular softwares that you used or you're using the provided solutions in cPanel.

In my opinions (and all due respect to the web hosts here), all the anti spam solutions that comes with the default hosting are not effective. I think most webmasters will agree with me.

I'm simply suggesting that the webmasters themselves are too, must be responsible for the spam mails:

1) Don't simply give out emails on any opt-in lists you come across.

2) Use Thunderbird "automatic learning" spam filters.

or
3) Redirect your mails to Gmails, and use Gmail spam filters (the best spam filters I've seen yet).

The limcs way is from end user perspective.
However, from web provider prespective you can use SPAM filter services

Meaning that all email will be route to external party for email scanning. And it will be re-route back into the webhoster server. The success rates is 99%.

Or you can have a strong SPAM filtering such as ironmail product, barracuda spam filter etc. These hardware solution have good spam control

For me, I use
Spamassasin + Clamav + Mail filter + RBL.
Some SPAM still slip through but it does kill 98% of spam :P
