i dont have a specific reason,just i am worried that that a small bandwidth wouldn't be enough in the future.and i am not searching exactly for 100GB,only around 50 to 100GB.

Buy what you need

1. It will save your money
2. It will make you choose a better provider.

For 100GB monthly data transfer, it is hard to squeeze the cost to RM 100 yearly payment.

I will take US premium bandwidth for example.

US premium bandwidth is around US$0.50/GB/mth, so if you need 100GB, it will be 100 x US$0.50 x 12 mths = US$600/year

This is the cost just for guaranteed bandwidth.

If you are able to find a hosting provider who sells RM100/year for 5GB space and 100GB bandwidth/month, there are two possibilities:
1. Hosting provider is overselling
2. Hosting provider uses low cost bandwidth

Just based on what michaelfoo said above, you're probably looking more at say 5 - 10GB bandwidth for that budget. Perhaps with 100 - 500MB space.

And fivio has a good point. See what you really need and find a host that provides that for a reasonable price. You will also then be paying for quality.

I agree with michael. If you are looking at RM100, it is impossible.

When you see a host selling really cheap, it would most probably mean that they are overselling. And the most common thing you see with a cheap webhost is that they disappear after awhile? This is the ultimate problem that plague malaysia's hosting industry.

I don't think any of the hosting providers here own their own datacenter.

If you're referring to equipments in datacenter, yes, that is possible. Definitely not the datacenter.

There are few companies have server room in their private premises. However, it still not up to datacenter level. They purchase a lease line and split between servers

Freenet is owning a datacenter if I not mistaken. It is located in Cyberjaya.

Start your forum from small. Pick a good company and slowly build your community there.

Things that kills forum

3. No proper backup
