Hello people,
This section should've been one of the more popular pages on this board since everybody is inevitably want to make some money off the Internet at some point... Anyways, I was wondering how much do you make, say a monthly average from the Net? How much is the largest commision check have you received so far? Do you positively think that you can make a living working online? I would appreciate your opinions...thanks! ![]() |

No doubt there is potential to make money on the internet.
However, it is not going to be easy, you will need to spend a lot of time researching the formula that works for you, I would suggest :- 1. Try checking around those sites that offer the same thing as you do, and learn from them. or visit other webmaster related forums to share ideas with other website owners. 2. Find your potential customers, you can't win everyone's heart, you will have to find those who is interested in what you offer on your website. 3. Try some PPC engine (google.com, overture.com, findwhat.com, sprinks.com, kanoodle.com) if you have the budget, or buy some ads at related websites if you have the budget. If you don't have the budget, perhaps you can try barter something with other website owners to gain exposure. Never ever trust in those $"9.99 for 10,000,000 email addresses ads", that is spamming and will only lead to closing down you whole website. Never ever go around forums and post hundreds of threads about your offer, post once periodically in forums that allow such posting. Be honest to your potential clients, there is no need to hide yourself away from anything if you are doing business legally. A professional aproach will gain good impression and thus might just lead to sale. If you have been around the internet for a while, you will see that some sites does not welcome Malaysians, why ? because there are some Malaysians (though not all) tends to use stolen credit cards to trade on the net or does not follow the rules set by the website owners (e.g. forums). As a Malaysian myself, it is really embrassing to see such things happening on the net (even myself has been receiving such fraud orders occasionally), though Malaysian are not the only one that is doing it, there are countries around this region worst than us, but at least we should be more responsible in what we are doing. I really hope someday Malaysians will be treated as a welcome guest to majority of the e-commerce website on the internet or even to the extend of calling Malaysian a respectable matured e-commerce nation.. |

Some Malaysian webmasters thought they can commit fraud at some websites and hope to get away with it. But they never think how their actions affect other honest Malaysian webmasters. I'm sure anybody who follow the affiliate program or e-commerce issues heard of ClickBank.com. Just recently, starting this month I think, they,ve refused accepting applicants from Malaysia, which no doubt as a results of the actions of fraudulence webmasters. Fortunately I've sign up with them a couple of weeks earlier and managed to secure some really good affiliate programs that pays good money. ClickBank's merchants are one of the highest paying merchants on the net when it comes to affiliate programs. Sometimes up to 60% commission. Now if I'm scrambling to sign up now, I would have missed this opportunity. The merchant once told me that their top affiliates make US10,000 per month and most others about USD1000, which is good. Now I know how and why people can make money with them but, for other Malaysian webmasters who want to sign up, it's just to late. Have to wait for ClickBank to change their policy... Anyhow..... I'd just what to snip in this interesting article about the guy who create trafficology.com. Ideas + Creativity + Efforts + Passion = $$$ a pretty one.... http://www.promotionbase.com/article.php/665 Last edited by simpson; 08-02-2002 at 11:27 AM. |

I signed up with Santa Monica Network Inc (www.smni.com) a few months back. They only do pop-unders but they pay a flat rate of US1.50 CPM. You can put the code on all your pages if you want to but the number of pop-unders can be pretty annoying to your visitors. Alternatively, you can set to limit it to 1 pop-under per day per visitor but that greatly reduces your revenue.
I'm using my own scripts to control the number of ads being served. Currently I'm making about US150-US180/month from SMNI. More than enough to pay for my hosting bills. You will need to submit your site to be verified by them and also you need a minimum 1000 unique visitors a day to qualify. |
