I would like to find out more information about the google adsense referal program.

My understanding is that it is similar to adsense where you will get paid if the visitor click the ads, download the software and purchase the software.

It works like this. You don't get paid when visitors 'click' (CPC) on the ads, but rather when visitors perform specific 'action' (CPA). For instance, visitor downloads, or purchase the goods. You'll get a cut.
