Yup, everybody want to be consultant now and make tons of money. Just selling theories.!
Hmm... In practical, fail! In their website, they claim their customer's site www.suweit.com is No 1 in Yahoo for the word 'beauty Malaysia". But the truth is...... lost in million.

Think we should call these programmes, 'Skim Cepat Popular' or 'Get Popular Quick'... -- Traffic to your site got quickly boosted to impress you so you'd make pleasing testimonials, and the you're left alone dry until your site die slowly without visitors...
C'mon, even eOneNet.com is not ranked top under 100K by Alexa even though it hosts so many of its students' sites (getting their traffic to its credit!)? What do you expect? You think its students' site site can get any more popular? Sure, if you fork more and more money, and we'll give you some more spikes. I'm guesing that CakesMalaysia's owner now gets more order offline than online and is cursing its web marketing investment. Check this out: CakesMalaysia's webhost (hmm... eonenet thru its WebHostingMalaysia) doesn't even pay for its own SSL certificate -- using Plesk's instead! These 'how to make money thru internet' courses and VCDs are ripoffs and should be regulated by the govt for making false claims! Looks like not-so-good 2004 for eOneNet... (less bruhaha compared to last year). Next time, teach people cooking skills, not just serving them a single plate of meal. Sorry Fione for taking your company as an example. The fact is, there are many self-claimed SEO experts out there - be careful... Oh well, I suppose dotcom bubbles in Msia only started to burst slowly this year, several yrs behind the sudden American crash. Last edited by Cognigens; 27-06-2004 at 02:13 AM. |

Check this out:
Quote:
1. Can someone point to me where the wild fires are? Exponential rate? TM Net only reports minimal increase in dialup subscriptions, and broadband subscribers still is less than 200K (that's well under 5% of Msian households). 2. 30%? really?? 3. oh well... if only online retail in Msia is as ambitions... 4. ok 5. Just 20%? Thought spams in my mailbox jumped 500%! 6. What opt-in newsletters? I pretty much unsubscribed off most of them. More and more people will hate opt-in list and never bother to check them. 7. Really? Doesn't this contradicts with #4? I'm seeing more text-only media. Everyone loves Google Adsense and Overture-breeds now. 8. Just 20% more? 9. Ditto. Duh! 10. It's summer already, and no Google IPO yet. Which other Internet companies going for IPO, and in ASIA?? Can we get more scientific and elaborate statistics please on how you the numbers like 20%, $80B etc get crunched? How about this: "The Internet... will also create more bankrupt individuals & companies, and convicted corporate crooks, faster than any other industries" Just my dua sen.... It's easy to critize, more often than not, out of jealousy. It's also easy to get negative people agreeing to negative comments without any grounds.
I have been following eOneNet for a few years. They have grown from a Internet start-up to having customers ranging from MNCs to small businesses. eOneNet does not claim to be No.1 Internet marketing asia, but ranked by search engines to be No.1. It's true that when you look for an Internet consultant, don't just look for someone who sell theories, like most other "gurus" who sell nothing but Internet marketing ebooks. But eOneNet has many successful online businesses other than conducting Internet seminars since 1999. We should learn why they are successful, instead of trying to give groundless comments or speculations. We are of course entitled to give our comments. But if we are not expert or are not sure, don't just say something which will make us look naive. |

Thanks for your comment etwins. But, envy and bits of admiration yes, but jealousy, a no-no. And please don't be too quick in labeling people as 'negative people'.
What I wrote is not just a quick impression, but, I myself have been following a number of related businesses including eOneNet for a number of years -- I've been active in this very net-centric industry since 1992. I agree that "eOneNet does not claim to be No.1 Internet marketing asia, but ranked by search engines to be No.1.", but, that's the problem... It still boasts the old "Kejap ada, Kejap Tak Ada" success on its site, although that kind of result usually fades quickly over time in Internet world. For instance, I can myself boast that my site had once been ranked top 5000 out of 40+ million domains today, making me the most successful individual site operator/owner in Malaysia (on par with multi-million operations of JobStreet, TheStar etc), but, who cares about success in a just a few months? Heck, dozens of my other sites get listed #1 for various keywords in Yahoo, Google, MSN etc. But, does that means I can fool others and trick customers off their marketing fund? I didn't say that eOneNet is all crap, but, I commented specifically on its seminar program, and its website customers. Others added on technical problems on its own site. I even praised that eOneNet headed by Fione is great in PR and marketing. The question is, are companies like eOneNet or even giants like TMNET/JARING, NasionCom, Andersen Consulting, IBM etc are serving their customers a one-time meal, or teaching them "how to cook"? Yes, you can call yourself a business consultant, but, do you have enough skillful engineers to back you up technologically? Unless you're with eOneNet or knows Fione personally, I doubt you'd ever really know if they are indeed successful or otherwise in the red all these years. Luckily, they are decently funded, thanks to their excellent business management skills (though seemingly lacking sufficient engineering components). Even if they are successful, do you have any ideas how many of their customers had miserably failed, and never got their money back? This is a consumer issue. Even private colleges are being regulated more nowadays. I'm just pushing it to include this kind of education offering for 'technopreneurs'. Yes, we should learn how/why they are successful, but, to ethically do what they do is a different story. Should we follow how execs of Enron or Worldcom make money? Should we follow how guys in TM/TMNET, Astro, TNB etc. monopolize the market? Again, thank you opinion, but, please refrain from labeling people quickly, especially in your first post, apa lagi coming up with words like "naive". |

What we are trying to say are:
1- don't tell people that our customer site is No 1 for certain keyword, instead it lost in million of other sites. 2- did you know that certain keyword that take your customer site for No 1 position in search engine, is only temporary.Maybe one or three month. This is because search engine is still adjusting the ranking. After that your targetting keyword will lost position for top ranking if your site do not have good page rank and inbound links. Have you ever heard of "Google Sandbox"? I assumed eonenet has told you that! so if don't know, please learn!

For me, I find my own ways and has never been fond of Fione Tan / eOneNet I wonder how they came up with the name anyway ... in the URL without spacing and letter caps, like Eo Nenet ...

hi
Hi guys
I have been on the Internet Bandwagon since 1996 (with Jaring) and even tried my hand at getting VC funding back in 1999-2000. (even attended a First Tuesday function once - http://www.firsttuesday.com/ ) I also know Fione personally as I was their so called "advisor" on Affiliate Programs even before their website was live ! I have informed one of their partners about this thread and I hope to paste their reply here soon. Keep tuned !
