Also, take note, NEVER EVER use maybank!!!! It's hell expensive!!! USD 10 (they claims that it's a commission from the US bank) and RM25 for their own. It's definitely a daylight robbery. hehe [/b]
OK ... I just would like to confirm this with other people that are NOT banking with Maybank and depositing Google Adsense cheques - Are you being charged the $10USD? If NOT - then I need to switch bank.

Hmm.. Seems like it is better I wait for next USD100 cheque and bank in together is more economic.

By the way, can my family bank in the cheque for me?
Because I am now working 6 days per week, never meet bank opening hour. What things are required? bank book? IC?
I think you just need to goto bank, fill up a cheque bank in form and drop the form together with cheque to the cheque box. Not sure for oversea cheque.. should be the same.

but remember to put ur account information, ur contact number and ur name behind the cheque. Not to forget to sign at the endorsement. That's all. Nothing else.

Why I don't deposit with BCB
- I have an account
- But BCB requires you to deposit at you home branch
- My home branch is on JB and I am in KL

Try other banks...perhaps u will find some 2nd lowest price. So BCB is charging RM10. Public bank min RM20 and max RM100 (2%). Any other banks?

What about hong leong bank?
if we can list down all the rates and we can compare.

Anyway, if u guys are free, u could check the rate for other banks. They might have lower rates.

Hi Guyz..
I have stopped using MayBank.. their bank fee is unreasonable.
BCB needs you to deposit at home branch, as mentioned by Kidino.
Muamalat is ok.. somebody told me to try Hong Leong Bank..
So all my latest checks are with HLB.. their fee is RM50 + RM10 courier.. but today.. I was shocked. They charged me RM50 + RM10 + $75 (RM280).. They said $75 was the charges from Citibank Delaware..

I found a thread on the Internet.. and somebody else's check was charged $75 too:
http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum89/1454.htm

The adsense check was $2++ and I only received RM4++ .. imagine.. how many I have lost?

I had deposited my prev adsense checks in Muamalat.. and the fee is very reasonable..

I guess it's time for me to go back to BCB or Muamalat..

Fairuz

Fairuz - in your case - then Maybank is better. It's RM20 + $10USD. That's about RM58 or RM60 (because they convert $10USD to 3.82 for them and about 3.77 for you - forex buying and selling thing)

If Public Bank is 2% with RM20 minimum and max of RM100- that sounds alright. The only time they'll charge you RM100 is when you earn more than $1315USD. And let say you lose RM100 from that. You still have RM4897.06 left (using 3.8 rate though) which is quite acceptable. I wonder if I can deposit from anywhere other than my home branch.

If you make about $100, they'll charge you only RM20 -- far better than Maybank's RM58. Public will only charge you RM58 when you earn $763 or so.

However, need to check out Muamalat and Hong Leong.

Just a thought - should we start complaining to the Bank Negara yet?

They have a complaints unit you know. And from my understanding, BNM don't like it when banks competes on fees and rates. They want banks to compete on services.

Banks with bnm has been robbing us long time ago. take this few examples:

Payment to across sabah & sarawak to west malaysia will be charged 50 cent commision.
Ministatement printing charged 50 cent - RM1
Current account charged RM5 and above per month
5 times ATM usage will be charged 50 cent
Telegraphic transfer is just about sending an encrypted data and they charge RM30 for it
Online banking charged RM1 per month
FD interest is so low they earn much more interest from our FD funds

Banks don't even pay us more than 50 cent per month for interest for small savings. They charge so much to give loans & investments and earn from their interest so many times higher than what they're paying us. Banking is not about savings anymore today - it's business.. you pay them to keep your money or whatever services provided. I'm thinking bank staffs is getting a salary rise from our money.

Complaint letter waste your finger muscle. I'm going to keep my cash under your pillow
