Yes. I make money from both.

Affiliate program never works for me.
I really don't have idea how to profit from Affiliate program by using a personal tech blog site...

Doing OK - not much - but OK with CJ and Linkshare.

I think I registered with CJ before they impose the policy on Malaysians.

And Linkshare - I think a lot of browsers are blocking their ads now. You might want to host the images/banners yourself and use just the links.

Yes I think they've changed their policy and refuse to accept application from Malaysia recently.

I applied and was accepted into CJ in 1998 I think so it was a different era. Likewise, clickbank.com stop acceptiong application from Malaysia.

They've some very good and lucrative products to promote there. I guess I was lucky to have applied earlier.

I think blog site will benefit more from adsense because, just a click will generate an income for you regardless of whether the visitors purchase or not.

If you place an affiliate program links, the visitor have to actually purchase the product before you can get paid.

Visitors who come to a blog site have different mindset. They are not a receptive shopper, they are there to read, not looking to buy something. So we can expect the low conversion rates for blog site.

Unless your blog site is about places where you can get discounted and cheap items to buy, or coupons etc.. you'll do well with affiliate programs.

May be after a review of an item, you can place a link to a good place to purchase that item? If you are ranked well in the SE for that item and related searches, I think you'll hit a jackpot.

BTW, you have a very cool blog. I think one of the best technology related blog in Malaysia I've encountered so far...

I have content-sites on computer cases, paintballs, airsoft - these are the sites that I promote affiliate programs. And doing well with Adsense too ... my blog ... I just put adsense ...
