I think webber didn't mention to the LHDN staff whether the income has already been taxed in the country where the income originates from.

So they could be assuming that the income was not converted to RM (and actually spent in Malaysia).

As for your second question, if the definition of company here applies to sole proprietorship then I guess it applies to us.

To be safe, I think we'd better confrim with LHDN in person because I was specifically told that I still have to pay tax.

BTW, if you are a company you'll fill in Form CP 204.

If you are an individual who derive your income from business, you'll have to fill in Form B, then I think you are considered as

Budget 2004 is just a budget, income tax is different issue because the rules apply differently for resident individual, non-resident individual, resident company and non-resident company and the situation you are in.

So you have to know who you are as a tax payer. I've double checked my status with LHDN and I do have to pay tax btw.

If you earn less that RM24K+ I think, you don't have to pay tax. Anyway don't just take my words for it, confirm your status with LHDN. Cheers.

Don't have to fill in anyform. I think I just specified "foreign publisher with no U.S. Activities". You'll be exempted from paying US tax and that's why you have to pay Malaysian tax if you earn over RM24K p.a.
