I'm using shareasale.com. They accept us Malaysian and there's a lot of programs for you to join.

Personally I have not tried linkshare. But lately I've read in some forums that they are having problem with payment and teminaton of accounts. You can read it at here at associateprograms.com.

Hopefully shareasale will stick with and not kick our ##s like CJ did

My linkshare account just terminated few weeks ago without any reason. They just saying that my site is not comply with their policies

Alang, u were saying that your account being terminated? what kind of policies are they talking about? have you found out what's the reason behind it?

I have no idea, perhaps because my site have a skins, applications that emulate mac os x. So might be for them, its is against a copyright law etc. etc..... but they never explain it in the email.

And what suprised me, I apply again last night, and got accepted immeditiately. No I reapply again for the itunes program which I'd make few hundres dollars before.

oh.. that's great.. maybe i'll try my luck on LS then... i'll check out shareasale as well...

i also like to ask, did you guys established your own company for your sites? i mean what's the requirement for doing that...what's the procedure. i know my target readers will be from the States.. it would be weird if i have a company name with a SDN BHD or Trading...
can i just simply make up a company name when i'm applying for the hosting and domain instead of putting my own real name? sorry, i hope you all can understand what i'm trying to ask..i'm just a newbie...

Hosting companies and domain registrars don't care about your real name or legal entity. All they want is your $$$. However, not all of them are like that, some are actually quite sticky on this matter.

My experience with a UK hosting company wanted my real address and telephone number... according to them, just in case if I do illegal things. To cut the story short, I did not sign up with them...

I just checked shareasale and they mentioned that payout is only through Direct Deposit. How does Direct Deposit work?

I think Direct Deposit is payment through your bank acct or paypal. I remember during first time registration you can choose your method of payment. dont choose this option, always choose to be paid by check.

Payout is also by check. This is taken from the affiliate FAQ section:

Q: How and When will I be paid for my generated sales and leads?
We issue payments via check and Direct Deposit on the 20th of each month. These payments are made to those affiliates who have reached the $50 minimum BEFORE the end of the previous month. For example, if an affiliate earns $50 by the end of February, they are paid those commissions on March 20th. If the affiliate did not reach the $50 minimum until March 1st, those commissions would be paid on April 20th. We have to allow time for merchants to review sales and leads in the case of returns, invalid credit cards, or even fraud.

And no I have not receive any checks from them.... yet
