Affiliate program work and it is a huge industry. The concept is simple but it is not easy. More work need to be done compare with Adsense & etc just putting the Ads up. That's why lot of marketers just concentrate on Adsense.

To me affilate income is about 1:1 compare with Adsense. I'm more focus on digital product and home study course.

Selling your own product is always a good move. This a where people make a lot of money. You can even recruit affiliate to market for you! If you focus on physical products, you need more commitment and operating cost is significant higher. I just launch my online store that selling physical products and only target US market. Just doing so so at the moment. Sometimes, I even wonder whether it's worth my time - I can make more than US$100 affiliate commission by selling US$300 course. But it is hard to make US$100 by selling US$300 physical goods. BUT, when I see some of the store doing so well, it motivate me to continue...

It's always a good idea to diversify your income sources - ads, affiliate and others.
