Google smart pricing suck!

Please read this article by Jensense - http://www.jensense.com/archives/200...orly_conv.html

- Smart pricing apply to all website under one account , that's bad to us.

I think Google will lose a lot of publisher, if YPN come alive...

Now everybody loves Chitika...

Google...what's next?

I already giving out half of my ad space for chitika and fastclick. Right now my chitika earning is more than adsense. My site being hit by smart pricing since 1st of September and no turning back since then....

Me too, eagerly waiting for YPN and hope google will really learn their lesson how to appreciate their adsense publisher.

well.
- YPN does not accept non-U.S residents yet.
- Chitika has not give me as much as Adsense yet.

So, I still have to stick with Adsense...

Even Google Adsense Team worry about this smart pricing affecting adsense publisher and they explain about it.

lol, adsense fails? Where do you get the idea? Adsense have a huge success and that is because they'd protect Advertiser via "smart pricing". But, what most publisher don't like about adsense is they're not transparent and favor advertiser more than publisher

I believe the percentage of people that abandon adsense for other program is lower and even though they doing that, they not remove it completely. It might take a year for yahoo to be on the same level with adsense in term of number of advertiser. I really hope yahoo can beat adsense though and with more competition, adsense will start pay attention to their publisher.

Danger for you if you only depends on adsense, chitika and others pay per click revenue.

You need to diversify your online revenue. Don't depend only these type of revenue.

I don't mind if my adsense revenue is drop cause I create multiple site, some from adsense, some from affiliate program and maybe some from ebook.

Look at kidino. He diversify his income, not purely depend on adsense. He got his product to sell, promoting affiliate program and so on. If adsense income drop, other sources of online revenue still give better income for him.

So be prepared for those planning work at home...

I believe with adsense smart pricing system, you need to be a master of affiliate program too, because you have to make sure that visitors that click ads on your site, will make a conversion for advertiser. So the old tricks where you fools visitors just to click on ads no longer work. And you really have to work on SEO too because you need a very targeted visitors and normally this kind of visitors will have a very high conversion rate.

Walawei ... you guys butter me up or what?

Well ... as for this issue, I was about to write about it on my blog. But was busy finishing up a luanch of a product ... among other things (raya prep, baby sick, work)

But here's what I think ... good sites affects you bad sites, bad sites affect good ones. In my Adsense stats this month, I've seen good days ... and bad days. And it seems like I don't have a consistent earning anymore. In September, I have days with above $30, and below $10.

I am speculating about why this is happening ...

First of all, I have good sites with good original info. And I have bad sites (generated pages).

This is my assumptions. On the huge earning days, Adsense is giving credit on the good sites. Hence higher earning on bad sites too. And on the worse day earning, Adsense is penalizing the bad sites, hence bad earning on good sites too. But overall, Adsense earning dropped this month.

While I will still build more sites in the future (good or bad) ... My focus right now is on building lists and creating my own products. I feel that I have a lot more control over my own list ... and sometimes do feel like being able to make money-on-demand.

Smart pricing definitely good for the advertiser.

I noticed this month my advertising cost with Adwords has gone down roughly 20% and conversion increases about 20% compare to a few months earlier.

My adsense income..? not much different so far...

There were times when my daily income surge for two or three days but mostly it hovers at the same level. So I don't see any smart pricing effect on my account. at least not yet...

Have mentioned about the 'stupid' smart pricing killed and still killing my earnings. My top and lowest earnings in October can have almost 70% difference. And I am making very poor on the last week of October. Sadly really nothing can be done at the moment, eagerly waiting for Yahoo and MSN to officially launch their respective 'adsense', hopefully won't need to wait too long.

I believe smart pricing is a good move to protect Advertisers as well as to ensure Adsense will benefit all of the webmasters. If the traffic is not convert well from the content networks, who else would want to continue advertise in their content networks?

I spent few hundreds per month in Adwords. I turn off "content network" at most of my campaigns because I know the traffics are less targeted compared search networks or directly from Google. Even if I turn it on, I will bid it lower.

This will happen to YPN and others too. Remember, the main income source for them is "advertising". It is their responsiblity to keep their Advertiser happy and ensure their publisher doing the right thing.

Yes, I agree. It is not transparent but I also understand what will happen if Google keep it transparent. There are so many people keep their eyes on Google and want to outsmart those PhDs from Google.

I dont really trust affliating products might work, for example amazon etc...i mean how long do you need someone to come to ur site and buy a book thru ur site and get the few dollars? Well im new so enlighten me haha. Anyways even smart pricing kicking in...i've suffered as well but i manage to bounce back, my adsense is increasing every month since day 1 and i think this month is a good month, might be seeing four figures for the first time Anyway im working fulltime on my blogs now and my alternate income other than AdSense is BlogAds, Chitika and some random ppl come to me and ask for reviewing their products, sites and put up their link...paid of course. I was wondering how to venture into making own products or making a e-commerce site etc. I really would love to try to sell some products.
