I've been a frequent visitor to SitePoint forum since 1997 when I started learning the tricks of the trade but my visits have been less frequent lately.

To be honest, I prefer webmasterworld.com to webmastermalaysia.com.

There are no signatures, nobody discusses specifics, and links to websites are banned. Not only that, but because of these policies they have attracted reps from most major search engines and PPC networks worldwide...

I doubt that it is because of the links/sigs (may play a minor role, though). I think the main problem is contribution...
To be honest here, foreign webmaster forums are generally more helpful and would not hesitate to help each other...

I think webmasterworld of course will be better than wmalaysia because of the target audience , world vs malaysia. hehe.

This forum will be less resource because of the small community. The expert is feeling boring because of the same question again and again. Anyway, wmalaysia is still a nice forum for webmaster in M'sia.

Digitalpoint too somehow gives me an impression that many members are from india trying to squeeze a penny or two here and there offerring their directory submission services
