yeah this site has been making headlines in every continent...the last time I checked out this site I read the stats was about 11,000 ppl currently online! fuiyoh....
The key here was to take something which people charged for and to give it away for free. Every new dating site said "free signup with very limited features and then pay to contact" or "suscription from the beginning". All of them wanted to get money from the dating site clients.
This site threw that out of the window and closely followed the two golden rules:-
Content is King & Visitors are Value
The free model meant lots of visitors who in turn generated lots of content, which in turn generates lots of visitors. By removing the barriers to member-content creation and signup it is easier to reach the critical mass required for self-propelled growth-rate increase.
Think of it this way - 100 members paying $10 a year = $1000 a year. 100,000 members paying nothing a year = millions of page-views which bring much much more money even at $2 eCPM.
Hermm.......![]()
I blogged about it earlier. He is using IP targeting to serve relevant pages as one of his arsenals. The guy is an active member of webmasterworld forum.
Problem with his business model is that his income derived exclusively via Google Adsense.. that's scary...
