For June, I'm on target for USD1,100 from Adsense, USD100 from banner ads, USD1,500 from SEO project - nothing from affiliate sales this month.

So it's just a modest USD2,700 for June. I'm sure big bloggers like ChowKS and LiewCF make more than this amount

$USD1500 from adsense, $800 from valueclick, $150 from chitika and $4500 from selling text links, ads space and paid directory

I'm running a huge forum, but hardly makin any money. Maybe because the language used is all non english...usd 100-120 m/o

In general it is bit difficult to optimise the ads placement in forum as the ads location is limited.

What I did
- blending ads within post with same color as background and will appear after 1st,5th and 10th posts
- double decker leaderboard for board index / topic index
- alternate ad using my own advertisement data from other forum...

I'm thinking of running a dating site......any software reccomended for that ?

You have a good crowd there. not bad at all.

Here is my 2cents. The background color need to match your main background color. this is a must. second try to place the ads somewhere in between the posting. but this one need to be done carefully. need to make sure the ads looks natural. there is no correct location, you need to do some experiment. change the location and leave it for few weeks and see the response.

It is nice to see so many malaysian doing well in the internet. Honestly I did not realise the fact, until recently. eventhough I've been using the internet since early 93. I'm more toward the auctions. selling and buying stuff from the internet.

I've just completed a gaming site, and in the process of promoting the site. one more project is in the pipe line, this one is a directory project (your speciality I presume). will take another month to be completed. if you dont mind, I might ask you few question in near future.

I run a forum too, not as huge but has around 1000++ members.

Google adsense is fine but it is not a long term solution.

With the forum of this size, I suggest you come out with you own advertising solution, which means, getting and serving your own ads. I guarantee you will earn more as cutting out the huge piece of share you are currently paying for any other ad network (google).

For the ad-serving/ad management solution, AdJuggler is one of the best hosted solution. For free, there is phpAdsNews.
