I'm now approaching my first customer~ on creation of a simple webpage for its business.
How much shall be paid to me, if I'm only creating the webpages (does not include getting a domain name for them, hosting etc)?

Depend on your prior experience, your time spent on creating the webpage as well as how much your client willing to spend.

If you are just starting up, I think a reasonable price would be around RM500 for a few simple (static) pages.

Sometime the IT department are given the budget for webdesign around RM 15000. When the webdesigner request for Rm 1200, the IT Department pau the remaining money

Be wise, understand the requirement, see the ACTUAL market price. Do not let them push you down.

hi limcs and all,

i've been doing this since 1998 but all of em sites are mine. never did sites for others. but since 2004, i'm "makan gaji", so i ve free time. there are ppl (clients) who want me to do sites/web projects for them. how do i charge?

for a couple of static pages, RM500, k. but how to charge if with some programming, db, cms? what's the average? hell... there r some projects 90% completed n i just aint know how much to bill them. been to many discussion sites, but still...

opinions, inputs appreciated. tia.

that should be RM3K+++.. dont ever lower that price.

let say.. RM5K..
the design part you can pay another freelancer designer.. and some flash too..
sometime.. outsourcing will speed up the developement time and enhance the look too.

oh oh... i under-charged. i only charged RM2000 for a previous project (db, cms, shopping cart, design). at that time it seems reasonable since i only spent 3 days (2 - 3hr/day).

good advice, i'll outsource a designer the next time since my design skills sucks

Charge Them Around 1.5k to 2 k For Simple Desgin..
If They Need Custom Desgin U MAy Increase Ur $$$

it's still in OK-lah..
but .. in my experience... you still had to think : The after sales service..

not only you, those can setup and tweaking the design to look better and nice in few hours.. but like this:.. after the web build up.. there's 2 option.
1 - they update their website by themself
2 - you update their website with little charge..

most of them will prefer option #1. there's come a trouble..
you need a time to teach them how to use the system.. if you're lucky like me.. u will got a very fast learner one.. else... you got the bengap one!

mati laa.. u ajar 2 bulan pun tak pandai2 lagi...
