Submit Sitemap to SE
Hi all,

I have submit my sitemap at google webmaster tools.

i saw before another type of submitting method with using Sitemap using an HTTP request
any different btw manual submit and http request?

it is used to let the search engine robots/crawler know that you created/updated the sitemap and they will download and replace the existing sitemap in their database.

Thanks for advise,because i saw a lot of people emphasized how important the sitemap then i am just wondering whether i need to do it not.

for my experiece, after submit my sitemap, traffic from google really increase (after google crawl my sitemap)

ya sure,

you need to download the sitemap generator plugin from wordpress.org, generate a sitemap like http://blog.icalvyn.com/sitemap.xml

once you have this
go to google webmastertools submit the sitemap, and wait for google come to crawl your website.

actually using the blogspot you also can submit the site map to google webmaster tools, but just a bit of research you have to do on it. I did it, but i lost the web that i refer too...

I'm not convinced by the sitemap rhetoric at all. Like I've posted elsewhere on this site, I can see the Googlebot checking a sitemap, then fetching some URLs that are obviously acquired from previously retrieved pages, not the ones in the sitemap. I'm wondering if it's some interaction between the lastmods in the sitemap and the If-Modified-Since behaviour of dynamically generated pages?

It seems like they only help Google - maybe - , not change the way it crawls your site. There's a bit more info here:

patient, sitemap is not magic, it need some time to let google crawl your blog.
