How Do You Get Quality Links to Your Websites?
Hi everyone.
Let's make a list of different ways we use to get quality links from other sites to ours. In other words, what are the common practices in link building? Looking forward to hearing from as many of you as possible. ![]() Last edited by Site Booster; 29-06-2008 at 01:55 AM. |

Leaving your mark (URL) on popular websites is the easiest one - just look for blogs, forums, directories that allow posting.
Paid advertising, if you advertise in the right place, will bring a lot of traffic, but it only keeps coming as long as you keep paying! Anybody seen A Free Online Advertising Network | Free Blog Advertising | AdGridwork.com It's an ad exchange - the site owners say they don't know how to make money out of it, so maybe it won't be available forever... |

making comment there do put "tahi" there, but the link are "no follow"
is not a search engine friendly link, uncle google are blind to those link. Consider a useless link for SE

"nofollow' links are far from useless to search engines, or to websites - read the wikipedia article
nofollow - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia It's a badly named link attribute, patented by Google employees, but used to varying extents by some of the other search majors. What it means is "exclude link from ranking algorithm". The search engines may still follow (which is what makes it badly named, in my mind) the link, to discover new content. So spamming links to your blog articles may be a good way to get the search engines to discover your new content. Not that any of us would do such a thing, of course. WMM uses nofollow on its pages, but maybe vBulletin's authors are confused? If you look at the Page Source for this page (you do this all the time, of course!) you can see "nofollow" used for lots of internal links (not the ones in our sigs or posts) - that's completely redundant. According to the wikipedia article, if you really want "don't follow this link" functionality, you need a 'nofollow' value in your robots html META element. Even if robots don't follow them nor search engines rank them, links are still good if they bring visitors. Everybody watch their stats to see which links bring the most visitors? |

I agree with the word quality. Actually, we should stick to this feature while looking for links from other websites. I mean we've got to get quality links from other sites, not just any link from any sites.
To me quality links are the ones from the websites that:
This is what I remember now, but authority sites and relevancy are the most important ones. Please add to this list if you remember other features differentiating a quality linking website from others. |

Hi.
1. Do you mean the content in our websites or in other websites should have absolute URLs? 2. Talking about anchor text, do you mean the links at author biography in an article we submit to other websites or within the article body in our websites? 3. What do you mean by great alt? Do you mean that our alt tags should also have absolute URLs? Explaining those points help our friends understand and some learn the points more easily. I'll appreciate it if you could clarify on them a bit more. Thanks. ![]() |

If your website has got some breakthrough news that could potentially attract lots of attention and is worth mentioning as a piece of important news, don't forget to syndicate it to the web news agencies.
Your press could contain a link back to your website. What else do you think could bring us more quality links? Share more ideas. |
