I'm a new member. I'd like to seek all members who know could recommend any companies could help us to place our website(s) on the 1st - 3rd pages listing on few major Search Engines. The SEs shall include Yahoo, MSN, & Google.
We will pay for it but at our budgets.

Oh yes! If possible, we don't want the pay-per-click services.

It depends on what keywords you want to optimize. By the way, never trust a company that guarantee to make your site to top ranked.

Why won't you do it yourself?

Is really not hard.

1- What type of product are you promoting? Find related keyword about that product using http://inventory.overture.com/d/sear...ry/suggestion/

2- Analyse those keyword in term of competition, how many sites has optimized those keyword. What page rank and how many inbound links they got..

3- After that copy those site strategy. Get as many inbound links you can get and it must be the same as those high ranking sites. Use your keyword as main title (anchor text) when getting inbound links.

Is easy to get No 1 in MSN and Yahoo within few months if you do it correctly, but is very hard in Google cause Google has Google sandbox and you only see your site appear in Google after one year..

I have the opposite view. I find it more easy to get top in google, next is msn and the hardest is yahoo. I have just recently has one of my clients website listed top 5 in google. In fact, I take google results as benchmark and provide SEO services that taking google results as benchmark. Maybe the difficulties do depends on certain keywords.

@casey: You might just search on major search engines on SEO services. If any SEO company that approach you can't even have their own website listed well in major search engines, then you might just skip them.

hmm iono, recently my posts always get to be one of the first few links in yahoo and msn's search results for related keywords, that's how i get new traffic to my site most of the time. and i didn't even try to do anything to optimize the post or my site for yahoo and msn.

You mean about your blog?

Blog is different. Search engine favour more in blog, cause search engine always come to your site to index. Your post will get top ranking for your keyword but it will lost it's ranking within 2 , 3 months later.

Not like static site. If you optimized it and get No 1 ranking, it will stay longer more than 1 year if no other site compete with you for that keyword. That's the different between blog and static site.

Also blog need to update regularly, where as static site did not. If you don't blog about a week, your traffic will go down tremendously..

what is google sandbox? can u explain it?

There should not have any guarantee service outside (unless you can bribe google people), no one out there are 100% sure about how search engine like google ranks a page.

Getting your page to the top requires time with the correct keyword and pages.

If you give your website here, I think that people here can give you useful advice.

Ok, this is not the best definition, but it's easy. Google sandbox is something in Google engine that makes new sites (say up to a year old) rank significantly lower (usually beyond top 100) than they should judging by their content/links etc. In other words, if you have a new site, there's nothing you can do to make your site rank decently at Google - you have to wait several months.

Hello there! It depends on the following factors:

a) number of backlinks (a.k.a inbound links)
b) meta-tags (website title, description, keywords, etc)
c) domain name

Priority in that order. I managed to take my website to no. 1 on MSN for some keywords within 3 weeks. But I think in your case, paid/sponsored listing may be the only choice.

how do google define a site is a 'blog' or the 'normal site' ?
