I use three software systems for SEO and I've found the combination much more powerful and effective than any of the other SEO systems added together.
1/ A good programmers text editor. I use Kate (KDE's advanced text editor) but if you remain in love with Microsoft then use EditPlus 2. Remember that great on-site SEO starts with a neat, short, and carefully engineered hand-written HTML page. Pay careful attention to the semantics, positioning within source, positioning on the page and the use of W3C recommended means for emphasis and accessibility. 2/ Good spreadsheet software. I use OpenOffice Calc, but Microsoft Excel is as good if you are using windows. Make a sheet which outlines the content you wish to add, the links between each page, and the links from other sites you are operating. Make another sheet with information from you statistics package, particularly focusing upon the number of search engine referrals to a page, the bounce-rate for search engine traffic to the page and the size of the page in bytes. 3/ An Apache webserver with the capability to run PHP and mod_rewrite. Careful analysis of mod_rewrite's capabilities, along with the header() command of PHP, will allow you employ everything from basic CMS systems to the most advanced cloaked bait-and-switch sites.

Jack,
I understood your question entirely and answered it. My advice to you is to forget all of those software packages and focus upon a high quality website with great on-site SEO and the ability to attract links without difficulty. To that end - aquire the software on the list I provided as they are invaluable to creating quality.

The problem is for the people who doen't know anything about html and scripting, how they are going to use that kind of software.
And for Starsearcher, the Yahoo keyword analyzer that you mentioned, it only estimate the searches. Not very accurate. One more thing, doing SEO takes a long time. By using the software that I'm using, they will speed the process of optimizing my websites. |

Since I use Site Build It!, everything has been done for me.
Site Build It! is a site-builder, where you require little or no html knowledge whatsoever. Besides that, even if I am a total noob at SEO, it does everything for me. All I have to do is type in what I'm writing about, and it lists down the suitable and related keywords. In short, what takes days of research become just hours of easy clicking and typing. It even submits my pages for me automatically to all the top SE's out there (Google, Yahoo!, MSN just to name a few). Besides that, it facilitates all my PPC advertisements and also tracks all my outgoing, incoming and mutual links. So, yeah, this software is my pick for SEO building! Using AUTOMATED submission software is HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED. Wrongly used and you could get yourself banned and blacklisted. Search Engines especially Google, don't really like them. Go for manual submissions. As for SEO software, they can be of great help to show you competitive keywords and successful keywords. However, knowledge of advance scripting especially in making full use of databases and dynamic contents, is purely ESSENTIAL. Try searching in Google.com for "perodua contact". http://enamecard.com.my is listed top two. That is one of my SEO optimized website. ![]() |
