What is your best source of traffic - Page 4

My main source of traffic come from Stumbleupon. Ya, depends a lot on social bookmarking site. Still learning SEO, very low traffic from search engine.

Hi Steveyu85. SEO has got some basics and requires lots of experience. To begin with few points, I've had a look at your website. It's beautiful and informative. You can think about the following tips for your page:

Your title tag has got very general single keywords. You need keyphrases and specially 3-4 word ones (long tail keywords).
Your meta description is very short and contains very general information.
Your meta keywords should have long tail keywords too.
The validator at the end of your page works and shows that your page isn't a valid one!
You overuse bold words by making use of this function for all sorts of words. It's better to use boldface for three most important keywords in various sections of your textual content.
Your title tag should be the first meta data line in the <head> section of your source code.

I hope this first step could help you somewhat. Don't forget that choosing the right keyphrases, long tail ones are extremely important for your website. You can also read one of my articles called Importance of Keyword Discovery OR KeyPhrase Research to get an idea about what I'm talking about.

Keep adding good content to your website.

Don't forget off-Site SEO... it's difficult yet very rewarding

I completely agree with you. Off-Site is even more rewarding than On-Site SEO. I just mentioned few points to begin with.
I believe organic SEO brings long-lasting rewards to websites, specially when it comes from outside sources, backlinks.
By the way, there are lots of various methods for getting good Off-Site score. Which ones do you prefer the most?

Hi Site Booster, I have a very serious problem with SEO for my site at Teknologi-maklumat.com. For one, I was told that I should not redirect my title to shorter url. Also, I have too many page redirects because of my dictionary. Need to configure my sitemap.php so that Google search engine doesn't follow redirects, but don't know how, LOL. (Google did write to me about this.) My web traffic is as follows:
* Direct address / Bookmarks 93.8%
* Links from an Internet Search Engine 3.3%
* Links from an external page (other web sites except search engines 2.7%.

Given these statistics, what should I do?

Hi Ekompute and thanks for your question.

Regarding your questions:

Move your title tag to the top of your meta data and below <head>.
You may redirect a long URL to a shorter one, but redirecting title to a shorter URL doesn't mean anything. Make sure you're telling me what you've exactly been told.
You have two meta keywords at your home page, which isn't a correct practice. I don't know the language of your site, but agree with a short meta keywords. Include your top 3 keyphrases.
Why don't you make sitemap.xml, which is required by Google at Google Webmaster Tools?
Are you sure you are using redirect 301?
To make sure all your pages are indexed, add a sitemap.html to your site, preferably all your pages , with html links to all webpages of your site. Links would be best to be followed by a short description of that page. At least, create links to the main sections of your site.
You definitely should get more benefit from Search Engines.

I wish I could read your language so that I could understand your site better, but I cannot and I'm sorry about this.

Do not forget getting backlinks for your webpages, specially for your deep pages. If they are worth linking to, the links will come automatically, but I don't want you to wait for this to happen. You should take action yourself.

Hi Site Booster, I posted a reply earlier in the day but somehow it didn't get published. I thought I forgot to click the save button after previewing, but found out now that I have exceeded the link quota, LOL. (No warning was given. Made me go on a wild goose chase for the last one hour.)

Title tag: I am using Mediawiki software where the title tag is automatically generated. However, I added the meta tags manually and this may be the reason why the title tag appears at the bottom of the meta tags.
Long URL redirect: I went back to AboutUs but after registering, it stops showing the analysis, LOL. There are other website analysis page that says the same thing but I can't find it when I need it most.
Two meta keywords at home page: Actually, there is only one but after you mentioned, I found out that web analyzers also show the keywords for my featured article which is in another page at Ashley Qualls. Looks like I have to use the "no-follow" command for robot.txt.
Sitemap.xml: Actually I do have one at teknologi-maklumat.com/mywiki/sitemap.xml.php. This page is automatically generated by a plug-in extension. Even so, Yahoo and MSN does not seem to index my site as the following data shows:
- Google 423 pages/431 hits
- Google (Images) 7/11
- Yahoo! 2/2
- Windows Live 1/1
Redirect 301: I just checked at SeoChat.com. It says: Results for: Teknologi-maklumat.com
- Status : (301) Moved Permanently
- The Redirect is Search Engine Friendly.
Funny. I used other tools (which I cannot find now) but it says some search engines do not index redirect files.

I didn't realize that you are a foreigner, that's why I choose the Teknologi-maklumat.com website which is in Malay. I have another one in English at Dummipedia.org. Should have given you this one instead. Can you help me to take a look?

natural search engine traffic is my source of traffic...but social networking website like digg and stumble upon give a huge boost sometimes

SEO and paid advertising would be the two sources to get somebody to my sites.
But once they're on the site, they've given alot of ways to come back (i.e. email list, "bookmark us" buttons, notifications, etc).

You have to study the keywords that bring traffic and check with the search engines.

But have you think about one of the reason is that much more people use Google than Yahoo... that's why more of your trafic comes from Google. So the reason may not be optimization after all

... study ur traffic further.
