What is your best source of traffic

Just doing a simple survey on webmaster preferred choice of traffic generating strategies that can bring in targeted leads.

1. SEO and SERP
2. Forum posting
3. Pay per Click - Adwords, overture/yahoo, adbrite, msn, etc....
4. Paid to surf/autosurf
5. email marketing: i.e. opt-in mail
6. Blog promotion
7. Safe list
8. Viral marketing
9. traffic generating program like trafficswarn, ad gizmo, world wide promoter
10. any off-line promotions like newspaper ads, flyer, fax, sms
..etc. spell your choice pleze....

I dun have much traffic but most of my blog visitors comes from forums or emails links to friends

I don't know so much on this, but I got a positive result when I give a comment on blog and forum. Link exchange would also increase your traffics.

errm...exchanging links do help and giving comments to other ppl's blog like what mazudi said, although it doesn't give a significant hike on the traffic but it does help

Just SEO as I'm very lazy in doing site promotion. I just got lucky that some major sites are linking to some of my sub pages and they are sending a lot of free traffic to my sites daily.

Beleive that you have a quality site Sherly. It's not an easy thing. I think one way link is better than two way link from "the eyes" of search engine.

Most of my site traffics are from pixel2life.com and perhaps digg.com a lil bit.

there was a period where the bandwidth jumped to almost 4,5 Gb per day (due to p2l) and thank god i managed to do some win-win thing wif my webhost.

I think the most overlooked traffic source is the comment area of others relevant blog. Looking at my own blog's traffic stats, among the top 10 referring source (not including search engines), the 5 of them comes from the comment area of others blogpost.

I normally write short comment on the person's post, and post an entry link of my blog as a suggestion for some followup reading. That works well.

my top traffic is come from search engine.. but im not sure wht brought them in??

Care to share how you manage to cope with this situation? I think some of us may want to try the same technique that you applied with your web host..

Well,

I request for a higher bandwidth in exchange for an advertisement banner to their site. And my current bandwidth limit is 70Gb (upped by 20Gb if you do the math).
