Google Sitemap

Hi there, I've been trying to use Google Sitemaps for my blog, but apparently google has errors indexing my blog, the error that I get says that my URLs are inaccessible, but what I found actually was that the so called inaccessible links listed by Google Sitemaps are indeed correct, has anyone using Wordpress tried Google Sitemaps before? If yes what plugin or what method do you use to submit your sitemaps?

Thank you.

You mean Google listed the URL problem in Webmaster Central, but in actual the URL is fine and accesssible? That happens to me sometimes but it just goes away over time (after the next crawl). Or you can try email Google Webmaster Support and see.

Yeah limcs, that's exactly how it is, I've tried resubmitting the sitemap again but the same error occurs again.

Ok I just resubmitted it again, and guess what, same Error again.

I just checked the options and I did not set it to block search engines, btw I'm using wordpress. Any other possible reasons?

ok I tried the gsitecrawler, nice program, however I'm still getting the error Network unreachable: robots.txt unreachable

do we need a robots.txt file in the same directory as our sitemap?

izzit all the pages got error or only robots.txt got the error???

if only robots.txt got the error... then you can ignore it..

robots.txt is used in order for you to block some spider from indexing a certain sub folder / files on your domain... if you are not blocking anything... then you can ignore...

alternatively you can create a blank "robots.txt" file using notepad and upload it into your main index folder....

for more info on your robots.txt plz refer to the below wikipedia website..

from Google Sitemaps it says Robots.txt unreacheable error. What should I do? upload a blank robots.txt file to my root folder and the folder that my wordpress is installed?

Rejoice, I uploaded a robots.txt file to both my root directory and the folder that wordpress is installed and the error is gone, now to wait for google to index my pages, finally after so long. Thanks guys for the help.
