Warning about purchased links
Just a tip off from another big forum I follow closely - MSN seems to be targetting bought links very heavily, e.g. site bans and same-IP site bans.

There have been reports of sites who have been engaged in buying links being banned from MSN search results. Also sites on the same IP and linked to the banned site.

No idea how it is tracked. No information about which networks/methods were used yet either.
My personal guess is that sites such as text-link-ads.com give you quite a detailed bit of HTML to insert - precisely formatted. It would be easy for a search engine to detect those blocks.

if we're been effect by this situation, what we should do? In case, my friend secretly link my site to his 'bad' site..then the site had been banned..anything that i can do to overcome it??

think they will only penalise your site if they found the link on your site.

Not just MSN, Google too start penalizing/derank/distrust sites whom purchase links to manipulate their search engine ranking. Those who purchase links from text-link-brokers, text-link-ads, reviewme, payperpost are the most easily detected.
*p/s: no effect just yet to those who 'accept links'.
