How often do you people scan your computer for viruses/spyware/adware? I'm just curious.

Anti-Virus is already protecting real-time (AVG) .. so I don't scan unless there is something funny going on.

Rarely scans for spyware too .... and firewall is on.

Just needed to be careful always

As my anti-virus is real-time protected, so I seldom scan my compute manually unless there's a real-time error or any problem occur within my system. However, I will scan my computer manually once a month, i suppose.

Anyway, I will view regedit almost twice a week to check out any weird registry is entered my computer. So, if i found something weird, I might delete it in case if it's a virus/worm/spyware which changing ur computer's registry. Nowadays, lots of worms/viruses will disable the regedit from being edit. An error will appear which sound like "the regedit has been disabled by administrator.." But there's way to enable it back, if you're good enough then u can clear your computer from any virus and worms within the regedit.

Ya, since it have real-time protection, it's not so important to scan. If there's virus alert, I will remove the virus, then I will scan the computer to make sure the computer is clean.

ast time my PC use to be no anti virus almost half year(actually i forgot install), at the end the PC getting slower due to too many program in there, so i format it

usually once per day.

Use AVG free. (auto update and scan on the midnight : 2am - 5 pm : when i was sleep)
- just shut down pc in the morning - b4 go to office.

Use spybot S&D too.
- scan weekly, or b4 sleep.. hehe

Yeah.. just 2 .. but my pc okay all the time . (just in special case sometime i do use hijack this).

Oh yeah!.. Only firefox browser.

If all else fail:
HijackThis - manually remove the malware
