I'm sure most of the webmasters here are familiar with fantastico. It's a convenient script installation software that comes with CPanel that lets you install the popular scripts within a click or two.

However, there have been voices from the script developer side that do not encourage the use of fantastico due to security issue and problem while upgrading.

For me, I think it's a time-saver although it still face some problem installing Drupal or OS Commerce using fantastico. Furthermore, the upgrade release is always slow using fantastico.

What do you all think?

I'm using installatron instead but i believe its just the same with fantastico. Although all my website is 100% coded myself but fantastico is indeed very useful yet time saving to set up a system instantly.
not many website owner know much about the technical issue and structure about a web-apps or CMS etc so, this is their only choice.

I have installed one but never explore the advantage and disadvantage of it. But yes, installation is simple.

Yes when if I got a probleam to upload file.
But using fantastico I always get a problem to upgred. That what I hate

Right, even Fantastico offered a way that couldn't be more simpler to install web application, but in a way, it stops new webmasters from learning important things such as: how to create database, how to use FTP to upload files, how to debug when installation fails, how to edit and manage configuration file for different scripts.

although the fantastico is the simple way to install any web apps, but I think fantastico had an older of web apps. But, the fantastico make novice webmaster like me easier to make any website..

errm, if u r using php hosting which uses cpanel, then u should b able to find the fantastico button there. It enable u to have guides on installing the software such as : wordpress, coppermine, various CMS etc into ur server directly
