Allo,

Tengah nak decide sama ada nak pakai Frontpage atau HTML saja untuk create web pages. I'm a newbie, so tak tahu hapah pasal programming-programming nie (cuma tahu basic HTML je).

Tak pernah pakai Frontpage utk create website... susah tak? Kalau susah, baik stick to HTML je kan?

Kalo nak guna HTML/XHTML ...download free version CoffeeCup HTML editor.

Guna FrontPage lagi senang dan cepat, especially jikalau nak arrange tables .. tapi FrontPage tak 'support' XHTML.

Kadang kadang saya guna FrontPage untuk buat initial layout ... bila dah habis.. saya copy saja kat text editor ... kemudian convert ke XHTML atau PHP............ cara ini lebih cepat

Kalo nak editor yg lebih 'power' .. guna Dreamweaver aje

PS:
Guna FrontPage 2003 boleh tengok "Design View" dan "HTML View" same time (split windows)

I would recommend you to use a more professional, and industrial-driven software -Macromedia Dreamweaver.

Don't forget about mac firework and flash too, it should work with dreamweaver, and you'll make wonders out of it : )

Tidak kisahlah samada Frontpage, Dreamweaver, Nvu, dan sebagainya..
Semuanya hanyalah Software yang berfungsi sebagai PENGARANG KOD HTML.

jadi.. belajarlah HTML, itu pilihan terbaik. tanpa pemahaman html yang baik, anda tidak akan berjaya menjadikan web anda menarik. Software apa2 pun tetap ada kelemahannya..

yep... wat bro mystic say is true... better to learn up html if you want to take full control of your page design and layout...

i quit using frontpage and dreamweawer few years already coz it just can't create a page that can viewed perfectly with ie and firefox....

anyway... frontpage sucks big time..

it's NO mac firework. (Mac is standard short form for Macintosh) so you mean macromedia right? ok.. my misunderstanding..

BTW, macromedia now aquired by adobe . It's adobe fireworks cs 3 .

Ok.. there's many discussion of webmaster's worldwide. Flash is BAD in SEO. That's the most wasted thing. But flash still good for interactive and.... something good just for animated header, banners.. but not and never for content.

belajar HTML itu pada mula² tengok mmg memeningkan dan terasa susah. Selepas anda cuba menaipnya secara sendiri² dalam Notepad (program paling best!) dan save sebagai HTML berkali², nescaya anda akan terasa kenikmatannya. Apatah lagi anda dalam masa yang sama terus-terusan study CSS!.

nvr ever use frontpage if u r goin to do a webpage which u want ur website to function well as it will generate a lot of rubbish code for u and mostly it is not Firefox support

as Mysticmind bro said. HTML really is very easy to learn in fact as far as i know is the most easiest programming language to learn my first software used to do a webpage is of course, the Notepad also

If you really want to use WYSIWYG editor, get NVU, it's better than frontpage. Dreamweaver is great, but it's too expensive, well unless you are a pirate.

But the best option would be just use a notepad, or a better functioned one like notepad++ . Learn CSS. Learn HTML. And you are certainly on your way.

Yes that's right... MACROMEDIA flash is what i'm talking about...
And yes, i'm aware that adobe has taken over the name mac, but that's just how i call it, cause its been very well-known with the mac name around. Anyway, Flash is bad in SEO, unless your willing to give up your web profit then you can create a more dynamic site with flash + dreamweaver +firework... it works together.

The original software is very expensive, unless if you're running a big business... Otherwise, you can just listen to limcs, get the 'other version' of dreamweaver... I think you know where to get right...

And bout the incompatible browser issues, that's every webmaster's responsibility to make sure that it will work in all browser. i.e. FX, IE, Opera... You just need to specify the margins, padding, cell padding correctly...its the same if you use frontpage, you could probably get issue with IE, and vice versa.

flash sites aren't exactly HTML based, and yeah it's not SEO friendly, so you're better off with Dreamweaver or notepad if you prefer to type every line of code by hand, Dreamweaver and other software are just tools in the end, you need to get your basics strong for HTML first, and as yipguseng said, never use Frontpage, by far the lousiest web design tool I've used, I switched to Dreamweaver instantly once I found out about it and never looked back.

Frontpage adalah TIDAK YANG PALING BESAR (Big No No).

Frontpage menjana kod html yang teruk. Sampah merata-rata. Seingat saya, cssnya juga dimasukkan kredit nama dia. Contohnya :

.MSclass2 {
bla bla bla
}

lebih kurang macam tu laa. (MS = microsoft).
Selain itu juga, banyak lagi perkara-perkara yang menjadikannya tidak bagus.

pilihan terbaik, tetap 'manual coding'. tapi jika anda tidak kisah, sekadar mahu web anda cuma cantik di Internet explorer sahaja, pakailah fornpage.

Sebalinya jika anda mahu web anda hebat dan cantik di semua jenis browser, pakarkan diri anda dengan manual coding. Dreamweaver juga masih punya kelemahan.

Tiada kerugian pun, apatah lagi jika selepas ini anda berminat belajar PHP. Anda punya kelebihan kerana sudah biasa dengan MANUAL!
