To develop the web browser from scratch, it is no easy. The core is the rendering engine that primarily interprets the HTML/related files, generate the output as a web page and etc.

I'm impressed with Opera whose primary business is commercial web browser. Not many web browsers can survive commercially until now. Although Opera is not my premier web browser, I do install it and respect it.

Yeah Opera is free now.

Opera is now operating globally and has offices, i.e. Japan in Asia and not limited to the PC platform, but go for different platforms - mobile/PDA/game console etc.

I like the opera. A lot of people labelled it as the "browser of the future".

Unfortunately, the hype of firefox and its extensibility with the plugins and stuff, the majority (including myself) still would prefer the firefox.

Opera looks better than Firefox and it's really cool. But at the monent I still use IE and Firefox (bcos of the adsense and webmaster addons etc) ... Opera used to test my web pages.

like yonghs... i use opera to test out the page view also so that my handcoded html can do cross browser view perfectly.... never really used it to surf net... i fell it abit clumsy like ie....

I only find Opera have problems with font rendering. Font's is somehow smaller in opera... The rest should be ok..

I used Opera long time ago...but ever since Firefox came out, I only used Firefox. It is faster and secure from other spyware...BUT

Two things I dislike about FireFox:

1) Take up resources (alot)

2) Allow Google to track your movements (easier)...In case you didnt know, there is a page in Google, I cant remember where, that you can view all the pages you visited. I think Firefox 2.0 makes it much easier for Google to track your movements...(scary rite?)

Maybe after reading this....some people will be starting to use Opera

However, Opera from North Europe still looks strong and independent against other web browser competitors.
