attach coding does work, need help

Dear mate...

I have add this code to my website

Code:

<h4>Your IP Is </h4>

<?php $ip=@$REMOTE_ADDR;
echo "<b>IP Address= $ip</b>";  ?>

i copy this part from Whatismyip clone which located at WhatIsMyIP Clone

the code i paste at LittlePenang the "about me" box, but the IP address does appear

need your valuable opinion

It wont work in 'just paste' way into rich text editor,
because the '<' string has been replace with ---> <

try paste in CODE view. (not sure can or cannot yet)
