Hi im a freelancer with few projects under my belt. So hopefully other freelancers can come in and share your experience abit...

Just curious as to wats the market price for a typical full flash website these days in Malaysia...

1) It should definitely be more than a typical html-only website, no?
2) Would any of u charge less than 2k?
3) What is the 'normal' range...between 2 to 4k?

Nowadays with so many tom dick and harry freelancers and companies dropping their prices like crazy, i suppose even a 2k project is considered 'quite big' and major.

I guess the question also depends on the client ultimately. if its for an individual, around 2k is reasonable? if for a company or small business, 3k onwards maybe?

I used to work in a web agency last time, the amount we charge those big companies is insane compared to whats the market price is like nowadays. i'm just wondering whether agencies nowadays have dropped their prices as well considering the freelance market these days.

Actually as a "freelancer", by charging up to 2k, it's quite a high risk and u might get zero customer because usually the company (esp. big company) rather put investment on registered web design company if have to invest much on the portal.

Then, not much big company want to use "flash" for business purpose as it might taking a little bit time or longer time for loading. Those company which usually will use flash site, normally they're hiring private professional web designer to work in their company (online department) and own their private dedicated server instead of hiring freelancer and using sharing server.

But yet, if you manage to get ur customer..for me, the price is depending on the designs, how animating you're manage to do, how high technology and how much link within the flash site.

Me, I will set it to package.
The higher quality and attractive, the higher rates. So, in stead of setting a price just because it's flash, better u show ppl ur folio and set a rate for it based on different type of qualification and animation.

Pricing quite a sensitive issue, company will worry if spend too much on a freelancer but result are disappointing, freelancer worry as the rate too high to "scare away" the customers.

So, again i will say, design some diff qualification of flash site, set a reasonable rates for every design, let ur client to choose..it can be even (just) 500 to simple flash site n up to 10k as if it's a very high techlogogy flash site. Let customer know why it's 2k, why it's 4k or even 10k?

average: 2-3k
expert: 4k n above. depends how many page flash

if u r using any auto wizerd software.. so later its really hard to moddify dan not more dan 300-500rm..(5 to 15 page)

But if u r doing it by urself.. plz plz plz evnthough for a single page site do not charge less dan 3000rm


but if u r new in this business dan to catch the clint u can charge dam lower..
but make sure if he able to giv u more work.. And by time let him realise tht u r charging low.. for tht u r expacting more work frm him..
