WAMP or XAMPP??

WAMP or XAMPP??.. which is better in:

setup & installation
handling & maintenance
GUI handling
usage
performance

Anybody know?? Which do you recommend?

Actually I'm a newbie and to this point, perhaps that someone knowledgeable with both apps could pinpoint the advantages or disadvantages for both application, if any or there's none. That would be a big help for novices like me. I'm just a user who would like to know which is more robust in terms of usability and easy handling/installation. And I'm not a programmer! No scripting is in my knowledge. Help me to decide. Maybe I can start learning PHP/ASP tutorial after installing the one with highest recommendation.

you may try either 1, almost the same that i can said... if you feel that hard to use for the one you choose, try another one..

I always try and error...

Hemm... okey since you put it that way. But do you need at least any programming skill if you need to manage a website or portal?? Sorry, I'm still baffled with ASP and PHP stuffs. I'm totally blank with it. Forgive me.

haiya.. both also the same. You dont have to think so much. Unless you want to start using some 'funny' php coding, try imagemagick, new php5 function, etc.. then its better to install php, mysql seperately.

I would say, NONE. Try apache2triad instead. I've been using apache2triad for quite some time and it has been great. It can be installed on both Windows and Linux, easy setup. Very easy. Easy greesy. Lol.

I do recommend on xamp, cuz it's easy to install and if u wish to uninstall, all the files will be cleaned up from the pc. So that's nice

i do use easyphp since years ago.....

it doesnt matter the software..
it's about yourself, your hardwork, your comitment on and doing something.

you dont had to waste your time too much for 'choosing local server software!'.

It's is just like... what ever kind of gas or dapur or kuali or periuk you use.. it's about - your cooked food delicious, tasty or not.

I tried both, well, I can say that WAMPP eats abit more ram, and only about 1-3mb. its very little. but I always get the 404 error. dont know why, maybe its my pc..

I vote for XAMPP. Been using it for quite some time. Easy to configure, easy to install and remove. The full version even have a mail server, not too sure about WAMP tho, never tried that.
