Hi,

MS Visual Studio is basically a development environment for Visual Basic .Net, Visual C++ .Net, Visual C# .Net and Visual J# .Net

ASP.Net is used to build dynamic web applications for the Microsoft.Net framework. ASP.Net can be programmed in VB or C#.

RM7 for Visual Studio .Net? Visual Studio .Net Pro (without J#) comes on 5 cds. How can these pirates sell it for RM7? A licensed version of Visual Studio costs RM2000+

The Microsoft.Net framework is free, but it requires Windows 2000, 2003 or XP.

ASP.net can only be installed on server editions of Windows 2000, 2003 and XP.

urmm... yes, they sell it for RM7, but that is not VS .Net i think, it is the old VS, on a single CD...

anyway, is this the good time to really look into the .Net technology seriously, and why should we care?

Well... there has been a lot of changes in .Net. For example asp.net. They changed so much in asp.net comparing it back to the old asp. I personally prefer the old ASP over the new asp.net. But, thoses who are experienced in VB or C# will like the new ASP.net very much because development of asp.net apps are similar to developing vb or c# apps.

However, there has been a lot of improvements in VS.net compared to the older versions of VS. If you're a serious Windows-based progammer, VS.net will be a very handy tool - if not the only tool you use.

Should we care about .Net? Well... for me... I'm not really concerned about .Net yet. I'll give it about 2-4 more years. But it would be good practice to migrate your apps now.
