hi actually i got problem with my IIS 5.1 installed on XP pro, i try accessing mr localhost but it gives me an HTTP 500 error and i ve turn off the friendly error msg and it give me this error

okay then... when do u get the errors? is it when you type http://localhost or when you are trying to run your own application?

try just going to http://localhost. If it works then IIS should have been set up properly. If this works, the problem could be with the other application you have installed (i.e. aspnuke, which i'm not sure what it's for).

if u can't, u may try http://[your computer name]/ or http:///127.0.0.1/

Last time, when I failed with http://localhost/ , I used the above and it works.

I think your webserver is running just fine. But I think there might be problems with your actual scripts or ASP was not installed correctly because:

All your .asp scripts get Error 500 like:

.cfm pages get Error 405 which is Method Not Allowed like:
07:24:51 127.0.0.1 POST /CFIDE/main/ide.cfm 405
meaning that you have not installed CFM or it wasnt installed correctly.

And when you tried to view the directories, you get Error 302 which is Access denied like:
07:18:58 127.0.0.1 GET /e-comm/ 302
This is because you probably have directory browsing off.

Your logs didn't log any .htm files so the logs can't tell more about the nature of the problem.

Your logs don't show any major problems with your webserver so try just running a simple .asp script and see if it works... just try:

<% Response.Write "Test!" %>

If you get an error... there's something wrong with one of the components. Try reinstalling. If the test script works, then it's a script error/problem.
