First of all, what does your system do? I'm assuming it is something like a pilgrimage (Haj) record/assignment system.

Is your system only for internal use, or will it be open to the public?

Whether it's an internal or public system, I would recommend that you migrate your database to an SQL type database for better performance and security.

Risks: There are many risks involved when you open your system up to the world. Especially with sensitive data (such as IC number) and personal data (such as date of birth).

Since your dealing with sensitive and personal data you will really need to look into securing your system.

Share IP address? I don't understand your question, your can't share an IP address. If your going to share data between two branches, the download speed isn't really what you should look for. The upload speed is more important.

If your site/app will only be used by a few people at a time (2 or 3 people), a 64Kpbs upstream connection should suffice, however, the faster the connection, the better.

3. Tip2 PHP ape ? Mysql, Apache, dan seumpanya, skrg server windows 2000.

Since you do not know what PHP is, it might be better to outsource this project since you are dealing with sensitive and personal data.

Anyhow, if you still wanted to do it yourself, here's a brief explaination:

PHP: server-side programming language (eg. scripts that interact with the database and generate HTML output)

MySQL: An opensource SQL database.

Apache: A webserver, similar to Microsoft's IIS (on Win2k).

I can't really comment much more, because your questions aren't specific enough. But i hope this helped you a bit.

I think it is easier that you tell us what you are doing and what do you want to do.

From the screenshot, we know you are using MS Access and using Form. Are you going to convert it to PHP or web based? Well, my advice is, like surfyan said, outsource it.

btw, it is rather funny to see an asp page asking php question. :P

1) Jgn open utk publik just guna utk dua branch je. Sama cam sufyan ckp, risiko maklumat pengguna. (tukar database ke mysql/mssql). DROP all tcp/udp/ipv6 except port 80 for ur web.

2) cuba guna myftp.com utk dinamic ip url (yourcompany.myftp.org) bagi share ip (itu maksudko la kan?) dua lokasi berhubung? main branch is database centre. 384kbps? no to slow... ok la gak... but not for heavy traffic.

3) php.net or mr. google

4) try ur best

tentang ip share tu saya dah pun tanya kat kedai telekom, dia kata boleh buat ip sharepare jea... kenalah konfigure sikit katanya.

There's still not enough information to correctly determine what you want really, and therefore, I can only make an assumption. I'm not really sure what goes on inside the KPM extranet, so that didn't really help (me).

Anyway, I'm assuming that your trying to develop an extranet to share your data between branches. From my experience, the project is feasible and isn't too difficult to design and develop (if you know what your doing).

If you don't have any experience in web programming, you may want to start learning the basics - HTML, PHP or ASP, MySQL, etc.
