there is a build in encryption method in .net framework. digg for encryption on google, i am very very sure there are one.

there choice, sha1, hash algorithm and etc.

i think if webbased and application classes r linked up in .net then i think it would be "System.Security.Cryptography" but i am not sure whether it's applicable for asp.net.

You can either used Rijndael or DEC(used by banks).
