Web Content Management ?

How could it possible to update the content of a website by just logging into the account and make the editing easily (They can either delete or add), without have to update the website manually and upload to the web through ftp? Thank you for reading this thread ..

you can use Content Management System or CMS for that purpose. To see a demo of open source CMS visit this site http://www.opensourcecms.com

Just try the demo and see which one that suits your need

Like alang mentioned, opensourcecms.com is a good place to start. But before you even begin, you should have a clear idea of what sort of web site you want to run.

Is it primarily a web log where you post about things that interest you? Or perhaps something like an online journal? Then blogs should pretty much be what you want.

If you want a web site that has multiple "areas" such as news (or posts), forums, downloads and links section, you would probably be better off by using a CMS (or portal as they are also commonly known as).

However, bear in mind that installing such scripts requires some background knowledge in setting them up. You have to know the capabilities of your server (does it have PHP or Perl, what type of database is used, MySQL or Postgres, etc.), and should be willing to carefully read through the setup instructions.

Some of the scripts are very easy to get up and running, while others are a pain. In the end, it's really up to you to pick which one you're most comfortable with.

for all the time, and after testing too many scripts,
i absolutely no doubt that the WORDPRESS is the best!

Simply the best, easy to understand, not so complicate, easy template customizing, good in SEO, bla bla bla..

not only for blog, but really good for other kind of website too.

// dislike nuke so much.. heavy load, s*cks template system, eat so much bandwith.. and the slowest loading time ever! (yeah.. too much sql query.. arghh)
// tested and runned on my site before ..

Oh yes, I couldn't agree more....Wordpress is best suited for the job. The Nuke variants really SUCK like hell, so vulnerable....

make your own content management is the best. I'd tried lots of CMS but none is suit my site well. So I end up with creating the site from scratch using dreamweaver, and put some PHP scripts here and there to make it easier to manage.
