Need help on .tpl file

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows how to insert and execute php codes within the .tpl (templates) files?

I've tried to do so but it doesn't run the php codes.

are you using mambo/joomla?

.tpl are just normal text files. PHP should run just fine.
make sure you have these codes.

I don't know much, but the code is something like this
